Surrey has become my home away from home.

My journey to the University of Surrey started when I was still a masters student. I was studying at São Paulo State University in the Chemistry Institute of Araraquara, Brazil, when I had the opportunity to spend 10 weeks conducting experiments in Surrey’s Advanced Technology Institute.

I have always wanted to pursue an academic career, since my time as an undergraduate student back in Brazil. Surrey Law School at the University of Surrey excels in the field of legal philosophy and the Surrey Centre for Law and Philosophy is one of the largest and most active research groups in its field.

The multiculturality at the University of Surrey is great and it is a very welcoming place. After living in London for several years, I really appreciate the quietness of Guildford, while being a stone’s throw away from the Surrey Hills.

Studying for a PhD offers me flexibility. I like that I can set my own timetable and work, according to a schedule that suits my work ethics.
