One of the aspects of the course I most enjoy is the project work because I can take what we’ve learnt, and my outside readings, and apply it to specific subjects that fascinate me.

This course gave me a completely new view of engineering which includes management and how the infrastructure sectors interact with each other.

The MSc Sustainable Development at Surrey is great for someone with critical thinking skills and multiple interests. I am hoping this course will bring me some clarity about where I can make the most impact in combating climate change.

I’ve been able to connect directly with sustainability-oriented organisations through guest lecturers on some of our modules, and recommendations from CES academics.

For me, the most enjoyable parts of the course are the lab experiments and projects. Whether it’s an individual or group project, the satisfaction of putting things together and building something that works – from scratch – is a unique feeling.

Being a campus university, Surrey feels like a community, which definitely helps when you are starting out as a Fresher.

One of the things I enjoy the most about the course is the variety in the way we’re taught and assessed: we’ve had practical lab sessions and a clinical visit to a nuclear medicine department, alongside traditional classroom lectures.

I studied for my undergraduate degree at Surrey and enjoyed it so much that I simply didn’t feel ready to finish, so staying here for another year to study the MSc Mathematics was an easy decision.
