What was your most useful experience at Surrey?

I’d definitely say that my Professional Training placement year, which I spent at Wonderbill (a bill management technology company), was the most useful experience. Not only did it help me to find out what aspects of software development I truly enjoy but also to discover what my strengths and weaknesses are. It was the year when I grew, improved my skills and expanded my knowledge base the most throughout my education. It equipped me with knowledge about the particular business field I was working in, how the business itself operates and how to develop the skills required to perform my work duties. Being able to practice everything in real working settings significantly accelerates your learning process.

What's your next step after graduation and what are looking forward to in that role?

I’ve decided to pursue a career in the industry after graduation and am going to join the Amazon Alexa team in London later this summer. I look forward to being challenged, working with some of the brightest people in the industry, and developing exciting projects.
