During my time studying my course, I have been particularly fond of the wide variety of topics covered. This allowed me to discover which areas of Computer Science I enjoyed most. I especially enjoyed the 'Web Application Development' module in second year, this module felt less like a class and more as if I was having fun. My course allowed me the opportunity to gain experience in teaching fellow students through the PALS programme.
I was fortunate enough to assist first-year students in one of these modules, which provided me with invaluable experience.
What do you enjoy most about Surrey?
Surrey has an amazing range of societies. I consider myself lucky to have the chance to work as the Web Developer for the computing society, as it was through this role that I found my passion for web development. Additionally, my involvement in the Karting Society was particularly rewarding. I connected with a group of individuals who shared my interests.
These experiences have enriched my time at Surrey, providing both professional growth and personal enjoyment. People at Surrey are very welcoming, and I noticed this right away when I began my course. That welcoming nature has stayed consistent throughout my time here. The campus atmosphere is fantastic, especially because we have an amazing club right on campus. I've enjoyed many fun nights with my friends, creating unforgettable memories. Furthermore, Wates House on campus is the prefect place to relax and have fun playing pool and socialising with friends.
What do you want to do when you graduate?
After graduating, I plan to expand my knowledge in computer science by pursuing a master's degree, with an interest in Artificial Intelligence or Software Development as my choice of course. This advanced study will help develop my skills which I can then leverage to enhance my time in the industry.
