Why we need your support
It has been an unprecedented year for students across the UK - the continued cost of living crisis is a huge weight on their shoulders. With the proportion of student expenses covered by the government maintenance loan at the lowest level for at least a decade, students are facing a "cost of learning crisis".
We know that this financial climate is having a direct impact on dropout rates. In the 2022-23 academic year, across UK universities 41,630 students withdrew from courses, compared to 32,491 in 2018-19.
Sadly, students at Surrey are also facing these pressures. This time last year we had 208 applications for support from students in economic hardship but this year that number has increased to 330 students.
Ensure no student has to leave Surrey without fulfilling their potential. Give students the support they need to graduate by donating to the Forever Surrey Fund.
