Returning students
All returning students are welcome to apply for campus accommodation, however there is a limited number of rooms available.
What you need to know
Returning students are those who have previously studied at the University of Surrey at any level of study including foundation courses.
Accommodation isn't guaranteed
Returning students are not guaranteed accommodation. For exceptions, please review our allocation document (PDF). If you fall outside the guarantee, there is support available to you in your search for housing in the private sector.
When to apply
You can apply for accommodation at any point of the year. However, during term time we are usually at full capacity and room availability is very limited.
Make sure you apply for the correct academic year
You need to ensure you apply for the correct academic year. If you are looking for accommodation starting in September 2025, you must apply for academic year 2025/26. Failing to do so may invalidate your application.
Second-semester accommodation 2024/25
We have a limited number of rooms available at this time of year, however, you can still submit an application. If you would like to apply for a room starting from the second semester, February 2025 please state this on your 2024/25 application.
