Mathematics at the Interface Group

Our group carries out research primarily in interdisciplinary mathematics that interfaces with other disciplines, ranging from biology, to data science and statistics, to quantum field theory and relativity. Interdisciplinary mathematics is a fertile research area as there are many interesting problems in other fields where the power of mathematics can make a significant impact.

Our research areas

Applied mathematical modelling

We apply mathematical, computational, and statistical techniques to the life and social sciences.

We focus on the mathematical structures that underpin fundamental physical theories such as quantum field theory and gravity.
