Surrey Academic Health and Care Partnership

Surrey Academic Health and Care Partnership (SAHCP) establishes a formal linkage of the University of Surrey, Surrey Heartlands and Surrey County Council, encouraging academic expertise to focus on addressing issues in population health, social care, and primary care, and facilitating close collaboration with acute and tertiary care partners.

About us

Integrated care implementation faces numerous cultural, organisational, and technological challenges. Factors such as ageing populations, fragmented systems, escalating costs, and workforce constraints add increasing dimensions of complexity.  SAHCP leverages the strengths of diverse partners, each bringing unique perspectives and resources to the partnership.

We will provide a structure for senior leaders to meet regularly to discuss substantive issues of mutual concern, leading to improved bilateral discussions and more effective joint working beyond the specifics of the SAHCP. This will provide a broader context for many staff to see their work beyond their department or organisation, fostering a sense of contributing to the broader good.

With our proven track record of research, innovation and positive health outcomes across our Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences – which includes specialisms across the fields of human health, psychology, biosciences and how we live and work with animals, and incorporates our new Surrey School of Medicine – the University is so well-placed to play a key role in this partnership.

Health Innovation KSS will support the partnership by offering advice to innovators, supporting with needs articulation, and guiding health system partners on the successful adoption and spread of new innovations.

Vision

A seamlessly connected, research-driven health and care ecosystem that empowers individuals, optimizes outcomes, and advances knowledge to shape the future of health and care delivery.

Mission

To champion collaboration among partners, combining our collective expertise and resources to develop and deploy research and innovative solutions.

Ambition

  • Facilitating the delivery of the integrated care agenda by harnessing the full range of expertise across the partnership from the community through to laboratory.
  • A wish to focus expertise on projects and initiatives which primarily involve an out of hospital setting.
  • Generating greater collaborative and interdisciplinary research to increase both participation and initiation.

Funding
