As an international student, the University’s dedication to making me feel at home has been remarkable. Dedicated services and resources, coupled with a commitment to inclusivity and cultural diversity, eased my homesickness. The University of Surrey ensured that my experience as an international student was more than just studying abroad – it was about finding a new home away from home.

There are a lot of external speakers on the course, including from the Royal Surrey Hospital and the National Physical Laboratory. They really help to widen your understanding of medical physics applications.

My lecturers have all been engaging and encouraging. They welcome questions and are happy to have one-to-one discussions.

The delivery of the TEDxSurreyUniversity event has been one of the most precious moments of my university experience. The TED brand backing has opened so many doors to new industry connections and helped me win the Access All Areas 30under30 award in 2023.

The range of modules in my course has enabled me to acquire a broad scope of knowledge, whilst specialising in my preferred skills. The small cohort offers a tight-knit community and close relationships with the other students and the teaching staff.

To this day, I am very grateful to have chosen Surrey: a place to grow personally and professionally.

As cheesy as it might sound, as an international student, Surrey became my home and I couldn’t have asked for a better one.
