I had a fantastic time during my placement at AstraZeneca. I developed invaluable professional and scientific skills, and it inspired me to pursue a career in biopharmaceutical research and development.

I was fortunate to engage in several translation practices, receiving training in professional translation that immersed me in authentic language service scenarios". 

I began my placement not really knowing what area I wanted to go into but came out with a direction, obtained a masters in that area and now have the role of Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Surrey Scorchers.

The things I learnt at Surrey form the backbone of what I do now. The course is all about environmental psychology, and now I’m an environmental psychologist at the global architectural practice Make Architects.

I am an Athletic Development Coach at Manchester United Football Club and love the relationships and rapport I get to build with staff and players.

Studying biomedical science at Surrey was, in a word, fantastic. And I would strongly advise doing a placement year to anyone; it’s invaluable for employability and life experience.

I enjoyed the course and practising so much, I just knew I didn’t want that to end after I qualified... I am now an Advanced CBT Therapist and I love the diversity of my role.

One of the great things about GSA is the fact that it's connected to the University of Surrey. This meant that not only did I feel a part of the small community that is the Guildford School of Acting, but I also felt like I was a part of the larger University of Surrey community, with access to all the University has to offer.
