I plan and create organic social media content for different clients such as Hard Rock Cafe, CarFest, and many more. It's a really fun job and I'm certain that the skills and knowledge I developed during my time at Surrey were a great contributor in securing it.
Graduation year
2024What were the best things about your course?
One of my favourite things about my course was the support we had from our lecturers, especially when it came to coursework. It was great to be able to discuss ideas and ask questions; it really made me feel confident in the work I was producing.
I also really enjoyed the opportunity to choose between optional modules and find out more about the topics I'm most interested in. That way, I could really focus on learning things that would be useful for my career progression.
What do you do now? How did your degree from Surrey help you achieve this?
I am currently working in a marketing and PR agency as a social media executive. On a daily basis, I plan and create organic social media content for different clients such as Hard Rock Cafe, CarFest, and many more. It's a really fun job and I'm certain that the skills and knowledge I developed during my time at Surrey were a great contributor in securing it.
What’s your advice to current students?
Stay organised, always - that way you will be able to both stay on top of your university work and have time to have fun and enjoy your student years.
Really try to find the balance between the two: learn as much as you can and work hard so you can easily secure a job later on, but also get that student experience, join societies, play sports, hang out with people, have fun.
