Choosing Surrey

I chose Surrey because of its strong reputation in the field of food science, with an excellent balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application. The University's advanced facilities and connections with the food industry made it an ideal place for me to study and develop my expertise. 

Life as a postgraduate student

Surrey has a great sense of community and the best atmosphere. Life here as a postgraduate student is incredibly fulfilling. The campus provides a peaceful and welcoming environment, perfect for both studying and socialising. There are plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded students, attend events and enjoy the facilities on campus. The support from both staff and peers makes the journey smoother and more enjoyable. 

The MSc Food Science provides opportunities to work on real-world projects like product development, which was a key highlight for me.

My career plans

I aspire to become the founder and CEO of a leading food company. My passion lies in creating innovative, sustainable food products that can make a positive impact globally. With my background in food science, product development and analytics, I aim to revolutionise the food industry by leading a company that prioritises quality, health and sustainability, while driving meaningful change.

My advice

Make the most of every opportunity! Engage with your professors, participate in projects and use the well-equipped labs to apply what you learn. Stay curious, ask questions and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone – this is where real growth happens.
