"The placements within sporting organisations were a fantastic springboard for future job prospects."

Highlights of my course

The lecturers and sporting facilities provided a great learning experience. The placements within sporting organisations were also a fantastic springboard for future job prospects. Additional qualifications, such as personal trainer and gym instructor, can also be gained throughout the course.

Embracing opportunities

The lecturers were excellent throughout my four years at Surrey – they are extremely knowledgeable in their field and are heavily involved in research and professional sport. I cannot thank them enough for their time and help. Through their contacts, I was able to get a job in my second year as an S&C and tennis coach at Aldershot Tennis Centre, where I still work part-time.

I also got involved in extracurricular activities, from captaining the men's 3 football team to presenting at the UKSCA conference where I won research poster of the year. These opportunities built my confidence and my ability to thrive in future endeavours.

Life at Surrey

I met many close friends for life at Surrey. I was heavily involved within the men's football teams across all years where I was fortunate enough to meet lots of people. The socials and Rubix nights after BUCS were amazing and great occasions for everyone, no matter whether you’d won or lost that day.

My career plans

I have just started an MSc in Physiotherapy at St Mary’s University, Twickenham and I’m looking forward to a physiotherapy career within sport.
