Grant ThorntonWhat do you like about your course and why?
I enjoy the challenging and practical coursework we are given which not only tests our theoretical knowledge but also other soft skills such as time management, leadership, and communications.
"The academics are so well versed in their respective fields so discussing modern topics and emerging technology is always a pleasure."
What do you enjoy most about Surrey?
Surrey offers a very natural campus with lots of green space both on campus and nearby. I enjoy taking walks and spending time with friends at these places. Additionally, there are a lot of food options for a range of prices when I'm not in the mood to cook! Participating in societies is another highlight, both as a member and committee, as the University offers a wide variety of interests to try out.
I am grateful to say I am starting my placement year at Grant Thornton in September so hoping to make a lot of good memories there!
The university’s placement team was incredibly helpful and motivating throughout the entire process. Despite the setbacks, their unwavering belief and support were a massive reason I was able to acquire my placement.
What do you want to do when you graduate?
My fascination lays in the intersection of law and technology, thus unlike a lot of my fellow computer science students, I am planning to become a patent attorney. My goal is to complete an internship during my final year at a law firm and progress into a trainee patent attorney role at the same firm once I graduate.
