Why did you choose to pursue an MBA, and why did you choose Surrey?

My decision to pursue an MBA stemmed from a desire to complement my technical background with comprehensive business knowledge and gain international exposure. I first encountered Surrey Business School at an international universities event in Chennai, where their MBA programme immediately caught my attention. The school's strategic location near London's business hub, combined with its reputation as a top business school with double accreditation, made it an ideal choice. What particularly drew me was their specialised focus on Business Intelligence within the MBA programme, which aligned perfectly with my interest in data-driven decision-making.

The partnership with Toulouse Business School offering a PG Diploma in International Business Management added another layer of global perspective that I was seeking in my education.

What real-world projects were you involved in?

My MBA experience was enriched by several impactful real-world projects that provided hands-on consulting experience. A significant highlight was collaborating with American EMBA students from the University of North Carolina Wilmington on consulting projects for the NHS and System1 during their visit to London. This cross-cultural collaboration provided valuable insights into healthcare and marketing technology sectors while enhancing my international business perspective.

In France, through our partnership with Toulouse Business School, I worked on the Globecom project where we consulted for Naio Technology, an innovative agritech manufacturer. These diverse projects culminated in my consultancy work with SSTL Airbus.

Each project offered unique challenges and learning opportunities, from healthcare innovation to space technology, providing me with a well-rounded understanding of different industries and international business practices.

What impact has Surrey’s MBA programme had on your career goals and aspirations?

The MBA has significantly refined my career aspirations and provided me with the tools and the network to achieve them. The programme has transformed my understanding of business strategy and given me the confidence to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

The programme has not only enhanced my analytical and strategic thinking skills but also provided me with practical experience in international business environments, which is crucial for my goal of building a global marketing agency.

The Surrey MBA has also enabled me to take the first steps toward establishing my own marketing agency called Raj Agencies with 2 offices in India employing more than 15 people with a 50+ client base of textile-based retailers and 25+ Brands to market for in South India.

For those still undecided about applying, what would you tell them?

For those contemplating an MBA at Surrey, I would emphasize that the programme offers more than just academic knowledge - it provides a transformative experience that combines practical learning with international exposure.

If you're looking to expand your business acumen, gain international exposure, and transform your career trajectory, Surrey's MBA programme provides the perfect platform to achieve these goals.
