Course

Nursing Studies (Registered Nurse Adult Nursing) BSc (Hons)

Why I chose Surrey

I came to Surrey to study on adult nursing because of its fabulous reputation and I’d heard good feedback from previous students. Everyone is friendly and the facilities are great - the simulation suite is just like being on a ward.

My clinical placements

I’ve been on lots of placements, including outpatients, orthopaedics, A&E and district nursing. The variety of work and the opportunities you get are great - no two days are the same which enables you to learn effectively. I particularly enjoyed my time working in A&E, where I felt part of the team straight away. This has helped me decide that emergency care is the area I want to work in.

For my elective placement, I worked with the British Red Cross 'support at home service'. It was great to meet lovely people in their own homes, knowing I’d made a difference.

My advice

I’d advise future nursing students to enjoy every minute of the course and make the most of everything offered to you. I’ve achieved far more than I ever thought possible.
