Entry year
2022My course
I've really enjoyed the variety of modules offered, since I'm a Computing and Information Technology BSc student (now known as Computing with Business Management BSc) I've had the opportunity to take one business management module each semester and they've provided a great opportunity to learn about other subject areas. They've also given me a chance to expand my social circle outside of my immediate cohort! The lecturers are also incredibly supportive, friendly, and always willing to help resolve any concerns I or other students have brought to them.
Student life at Surrey
What I love most about Surrey is the amount of student life opportunities on offer to grow and make a difference! There's almost 200 clubs and societies to choose from! In my first year I was given the opportunity to become president of the Music and Drama society and I've had an incredible time causing chaos and creating shows!
I've also been a course representative since my first year, the staff and lecturers in my school have helped support my cohort during my time here and I was awarded 'Course Rep of the Year' at the Union Ball in both my first and second year!
Future plans
When I leave Surrey I want to pursue a job in Project Management, with the help of Surrey Pathfinder and the support of our Director of Employability Stella Kazamia, I've successfully secured a placement role in Project Management!
Advice to students
I'd absolutely suggest becoming a course rep, it gives you access of information about how the school runs and what upcoming changes there will be in your next year! It's also worth practicing some Java programming before term starts to give you a head start!
