Why did you choose to study your course at Surrey?
I choose the University of Surrey because of the reputation of the university, campus, student support, and the course structure. I chose Pharmaceutical Sciences MSc at the University of Surrey mainly because the modules in the course are unique as they deal with up-to-date needs in the industry. Specific modules that stood out for me are Advanced pharmaceutical formulations, Drug discovery and medicinal chemistry, and Pharmaceutical analysis and QA/QC. The curriculum comprises all the aspects and is perfect for any ambitious student.
What are the best things about Surrey and your course?
This programme equips with the knowledge to meet the demands of the industry. Working with a wide variety of software - for driving analytical equipment and formulation instrumentation, data evaluation, statistical analysis, remote access of the instruments, molecular modelling and more. It is vital to say that the university has a state-of-the-art laboratories, which immerses everyone in the development of world-class medicine, benefiting from hands-on learning in dedicated laboratory facilities.
What are your career plans?
I am currently enrolled in the 2-year Pharmaceutical Sciences MSc which includes a valuable placement year with industrial practice. As a former pharmacist, I aim to build on my existing knowledge and expand my expertise in the pharmaceutical field. I’m particularly interested in pursuing a career as a formulation scientist, regulatory specialist, or analytical scientist, where I can apply my skills to help develop and ensure the safety and efficacy of new medications.
