Entry year
2019"I’ve always been interested in psychology, and after working in schools for a few years I decided it was time to take my career in a different direction by learning about psychology in the workplace. I lived locally and had heard good reviews about the Occupational and Organizational Psychology MSc at Surrey Business School, so it seemed like an obvious choice to study at Surrey.
Understanding how to improve wellbeing in the workplace helps both the employees and the organisation itself. I enjoy learning in-depth about behaviours in the workplace, some of which I used to take for granted. It has been interesting learning more about motivation and citizenship behaviours.
"I also enjoy the interesting and engaging way in which our lecturers present information, and how they take time to discuss different ideas with us before, during and after lectures."
I’ve learnt new skills and I’m now more proactive in ways I had not been previously!
Following my time at Surrey Business School, I would like to work as a consultant, in some capacity. My course is helping prepare me for this by teaching me the skills I need to understand, present and critically evaluate relevant theories.
One of my achievements so far has been becoming a Course Rep, which gives me the responsibility to represent my fellow students on the course."
