Entry year
2020Studying at Surrey
My journey at Surrey started much earlier as I also did my undergraduate here in Business Management. This degree helped me identify the specific path that I wanted to follow in the world of Business. With my attraction to psychology and management, I ended up choosing a postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management. I need to also thank all the teaching staff that inspired me and delegated me towards a path that sparks my passion.
The integration of psychology within the subject as well as my desire to make a significant contribution to the industry of HRM was what first attracted me to the course. I want the world to see employees as more than assets for big corporations. People need to be more valued, especially at the workplace and I believe that following this course will help me reach a career where I can put this message across.
"The literature within the course is very interesting, but my favourite part is the practical work where we get to be consultants for global companies and work with senior staff on developing the HR department of companies."
When working with such huge corporations it really makes you feel how valuable the field of study really is, and the need various industries have for HR professionals.
In the future
Surrey had, and still has, a huge impact on my future, not only has it opened many doors for me such as being accredited by the CIPD, but it has also inspired me to pursue further education. At the end of my postgraduate course, I am thinking about staying in education to complete a PhD degree in the same field.
