My career and achievements

As an experienced entrepreneur and former CEO of The Care Workers’ Charity, Alex Ramamurthy has dedicated his career to driving positive change in health and social care. With over a decade of experience in tech startups, Alex has raised venture capital funding and successfully exited his own age-tech business. His work has consistently focused on social impact, using digital innovation to address critical challenges.

Now, as Head of Health and Social Care at Wagestream, Alex leads strategic oversight of both the NHS and private healthcare sectors (c£10m per year business lines), ensuring the financial wellbeing of workers through access to flexible pay, savings, and financial education. His passion for creating lasting, meaningful change is evident in every project he undertakes.

Alex’s entrepreneurial journey includes his time as Chairman of the Care Innovation Hub, where he developed pioneering solutions to improve the lives of care workers and older adults. He has been recognised for his leadership and innovation, with accolades such as being a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and Chief Executive of the Year at the Third Sector Awards.

Alex is committed to building strong partnerships and using technology to shape the future of health and social care. His efforts have garnered industry-wide recognition, including being named LaingBuisson's Rising Star and receiving the Change Project of the Year at the Charity Times Awards.
