One aspect I love about the Environment and Sustainability course is the multidisciplinary topics connecting science, policies, and everyday behaviours. It teaches not only about actionable change but also complex Earth systems.

What do you enjoy most about Surrey?
I love the opportunities Surrey offers, from its lovely campus to its events and societies. Surrey allows for strong connections and collaborations with students. I have had the opportunity to attend sustainability assemblies and talks. I am currently a member of the Ballroom and Latin Dance society. Joining these societies and events has opened my social network helping me build friendships and professional connections.
What do you want to do when you graduate?
I am currently exploring different career options. I would love to work with companies willing to make sustainability the core of their business. I am interested in sustainable innovation, looking into production and supply. I am keen to work as part of a team in sustainable industrial practices and combat global challenges.
Your advice to new students
When studying this course, it is important to be passionate about this subject and stay informed on current issues. Sustainability is rapidly evolving with new research and policies. My advice would be to follow reliable sources of environmental news sites and policy updates. This will help you to understand current trends and add context to lectures and coursework.
