Undergraduate
If you are studying for Polish qualifications, you will need a suitable equivalent grade to apply for our undergraduate courses. The table below shows grade equivalencies for Poland.

BCC | 70 per cent in all written standard level subjects, including three extended level subjects, each at 60 per cent. |

Subject requirements
For courses that have specific subject requirements at A-level:

Minimum standard in English and mathematics
If you are applying for an undergraduate course at Surrey, you must meet our minimum standards for English and mathematics.
English: IELTS Academic required.
Mathematics:
Grade C | *Świadectwo Dojrzałości*/*Matura*, 30% |
Grade B | *Świadectwo Dojrzałości /*Matura*, 30% |
Grade A | *Świadectwo Dojrzałości*/*Matura*, 40% |
Some courses may require higher grades in English and mathematics and/or additional subjects, so please check the requirements provided on individual course pages.
Undergraduate pathway programmes
If you do not meet the direct entry requirements for a course, you can apply to study on one of our UK/ EU foundation courses. If you are applying from Poland, we typically look for a minimum of 60 per cent in all written standard level subjects, including three extended level subjects, each at 55 per cent in the Świadectwo Dojrzałości.
Postgraduate
You can apply for our postgraduate masters courses if you have a Polish bachelors degree or above.
To apply for one of our postgraduate courses that require a UK 2:1:
Bachelors degree
Any of the following with 4+ (4.5) / B overall (dobry plus / fairly good).
Dyplom Tytuł Licencjat (bachelors degree, started after 2006)
Dyplom Tytuł Inżynier (bachelors degree, started after 2006)
Masters degree
4 (4.0) / C overall (dobry / good).
Dyplom Tytuł Magister (masters degree) If awarded from 2001.
For courses that require a UK 2:2:
Bachelors degree
Any of the following with 4 (4.0) / C overall (dobry / good).
Dyplom Tytuł Licencjat (bachelors degree, started after 2006)
Dyplom Tytuł Inżynier (bachelors degree, started after 2006)
Masters degree
3+ (3.5) / D overall (Satisfactory).
Dyplom Tytuł Magister (masters degree) If awarded from 2001.
Postgraduate pathway programmes
If you do not meet the requirements for a postgraduate course, you can apply for a Pre-Masters Preparation Programme. These pathway programmes are offered by the University of Surrey International Study Centre and are designed in order to develop a student’s academic and English language skills in preparation for postgraduate study.
Upon successful completion, you can progress to a masters degree at the University of Surrey.

All our students require a good standard of English language to be eligible to study with us. If you don’t meet our requirements, we offer intensive pre-sessional English language courses, designed to take you to the level of English ability and skill required for your studies.
