- Research Manager
Amy is a Surrey graduate, with a Chemistry background and having worked in that department to complete a PhD in polymeric materials. Since leaving Surrey, she has worked in scientific consultancy addressing a variety of challenges driven by industry needs. This has included working with Energy Transmission and Distribution System Operators, collaborating with teams of chemists, physicists and engineers, to develop novel, enhanced materials for improved asset performance, longevity and for recyclability.
As a consultant, Amy has been involved in leading projects at all stages of research life cycle, from idea generation and proposal development to technical delivery, project management and dissemination and also moving to exploit IP at TRL 8+. As such, in her role of Research manager for the Institute for Sustainability, she bring this wealth of experience to help Institute Fellows to develop their ideas, build their teams and consortia and plan their research programmes against funding opportunities to develop winning proposals.
