New online resources for LLM students

In preparation for our new Professional Legal Practice (SQE Pathway) LLM launching this September, we are delighted to announce that we have partnered with two organisations, Oxford University Press (OUP) and LawWorks.

Students will have access to OUP’s online portal, SQE Prep & Practise, for up to 18 months to prepare for their SQE Part 1 assessment. SQE Prep & Practise offers the highest quality materials, with questions written by experts and mapped to the SQE assessment specification to give students all the information they need to study towards the SQE1.

“Working with the Free Legal Answers platform is an exciting way to engage with real client queries and to be at the forefront of debate about the use of legal technology in the provision of clinical legal advice.”

Dr Katy Peters, Co-Programme Leader

Students will also get real life experience in advising clients about their legal queries via the Free Legal Answers Platform, hosted by the charity LawWorks, under the supervision of a practising solicitor. LawWorks connects volunteer lawyers with people in need of legal advice who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay.

Co-Leader of this course, Claire Lillywhite, said:

“Having access to these online resources will be of significant benefit to students. The SQE materials are well structured and easy to use and Free Legal Answers provides students with the opportunity to hone their professional skills. Using both resources, while also preparing for practical skills assessments, will ensure that students have an excellent understanding of law in practice and feel confident to take the next steps in their legal career.”
