Security Testbed

The Security Testbed is used to test performance and feasibility of cyber security and privacy technologies for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV), intelligent transport systems (ITS) and related 5G/6G connectivity.

Facilities in detail

The testbed consists of on-board units (OBUs) and roadside units (RSUs) from Huawei and Cohda Wireless, which can be used for 802.11p and cellular network communications such as LTE and V2X between vehicles and roadside facilities.

The testbed also includes two street drone autonomous-ready vehicles that can be used to demonstrate CAV security applications with 5G/6G connectivity, and test security, privacy and networking performance plus developing new solutions.
