UK or international fees covered for the full duration of the programme (MRes+PhD). A yearly stipend (for 2024-25 entry, £20,780 + £2460 (for teaching duties)). In addition, the funding also provides a yearly research allowance of £750 for research expenses and travel to conferences. Additional generous funds are available for periods of research visits abroad, and other research expenses (beyond the personal research allowance).

This award will cover the UK tuition fees (or internal tuition fees for exceptional international candidates) and provides a stipend at the UKRI rate for a period of 3.5 years. The stipend (Tax-free maintenance payment based on the UKRI minimum rate) is £20,780 from 1 October 2025.50% of the award will be contributed by Silveray, the industrial partner. Silveray will contribute and additional £2.5k p.a. for consumables, travel and research expenses to conduct the activity.
