Lunchtime Recital - Cellist, Dr Iagoba Fanlo

Iagoba Fanlo is head of the String Department of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, regularly gives masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Norwegian Academy of Music, and is a cello tutor for the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth.

In 1994 he was selected to perform works by Elgar under the batons of Yehudi Menuhin and Lynn Harrell, debuting with the orchestra of the Royal Academy of Music in London. Fanlo has performed with the New London Sinfonia, the Northern Chamber Orchestra, the Saint Petersburg State Hermitage Chamber Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad Real, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, the North Czech Philharmonic, the Virtuosi di Praga, the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Region de Murcia, the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, the Euskadiko Orchestra, the Orquesta Nacional de España and the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama.

He has performed concertos by Haydn, Dvořák, Boccherini, Tchaikovsky, Martínez Martínez-Burgos, Beethoven, Nin-Culmell and Rodrigo, under conductors such as Oldřich Vlček, Pedro Halffter, Yeruham Scharovsky, Jordi Bernàcer, Ondrej Lenárd, J. Cantarell-Rocha, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Charles Olivieri-Munroe, José de Eusebio and Colin Metters.
