Odaline de la Martinez at 75

Odaline ('Chachi') de la Martinez has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an internationally acclaimed composer, conductor, and record producer. This concert will celebrate her leading contribution to the championship of women composers, Latin-American music, and contemporary composers in a programme of Chachi's music and those of other University of Surrey composers, performed by professional musicians with whom she has worked over the years as well as Surrey graduates and students. Please join us to honour our Honorary Visiting Professor on the evening of her 75th birthday, and stay for the reception afterwards. (full programme available)

Join us for a celebration of the work of internationally acclaimed Cuban-American composer and conductor Odaline de la Martinez on the evening of her 75th birthday. This free concert will celebrate Martinez's leading contribution to the championship of women composers, Latin-American music and contemporary composers in a programme of her music and those of other University of Surrey composers, performed by professional musicians with whom she has worked over the years as well as Surrey graduates and students. Performers include Samantha Ege (piano), Caroline Balding (violin), Clare O'Connell (cello), Maureen Galea (piano), Elizabeth Ward (flute), Christopher Wiley (oboe), Vincent Godfrey (clarinet), Milan Brinker (cello) and 2024 Joyce Dixey Competition winner Noah Bodley Scott (voice).

Pre Concert Talk will take place in Studio One at 6.15pm
