Overview

Quantum thermodynamics is a promising area, which has the ambition to close the gap between microscopic quantum phenomena and macroscopic classical scales. Resorting to the physics of thermodynamic systems, the field seeks to establish a framework going beyond conventional classical thermodynamics to account for non-equilibrium dynamics at the quantum level.

Within the project network Quantum Thermodynamics, Quantum Biology & the Arrow of Time, we are pleased to announce a one-day international meeting on the topic “New Trends in Quantum Thermodynamics”. This meeting is meant to bring together experts from the field, as well as those working on open quantum systems, hybrid quantum-classical systems, and related topics from different perspectives.

Invited speakers

  • Lane Hughston (Goldsmiths University of London)
  • Iva Brezinova (Vienna University of Technology, AT)
  • Jesús Clemente-Gallardo (University of Zaragoza, ES)
  • Isaac Layton (University College London, UK)
  • Mauro Paternostro (Queen's University Belfast, UK)
  • Jesús Rubio Jiménez (University of Surrey, UK)
