Abstract
Modern day hunter-gatherers get up at dawn and go to bed a few hours after dusk. So why do so many of us struggle to get up in the morning? And how can maths help?
In this talk I will introduce some of the ideas involved in the mathematical modelling of sleep and showcase some of the work we are doing with the Surrey Sleep Research Centre.
