Dr. María del Carmen Redondo Bermúdez

Biography
Born and raised in Mexico City, María del Carmen Redondo Bermúdez is a multi-disciplinary scientist interested in creating fair and livable cities that incorporate nature. She worked as a consultant after studying for a BEng in environmental engineering. She also holds an MSc in applied ecology from a joint Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Commission. She has recently been awarded a PhD in landscape architecture, with a specialisation in nature-based solutions and clean air.
Dr.habil. Luis Inostroza
Senior researcher, Mendel University in Brno
Biography
Dr. Luis Inostroza is a senior researcher at the Faculty of Regional Studies and International Development, Mendel University in Brno where he leads the urban ecology research lab. He applies spatially explicit quantitative methods based on GIS and remote sensing to analyse the metabolism of socio-ecological systems and their links to ecological and economic functions, from local to global scales. Luis possesses profound working experience across Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia having published his work in more than 70 scientific publications and presented at more than 50 international conferences. Luis is an Associate Editor of Ecosystem Services, Springer book series editor, editorial board member of Landscape and Urban Planning and reviewer of more than 50 indexed journals. Luis is an executive committee member of the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP), a member of the Society for Urban Ecology (SURE), a member of the European Land-use Institute (ELI), a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and IPBES expert. He speaks fluently five languages.
