Abstract

In this TORUS seminar talk, I will try to motivate and explain some basic concepts of integrability. Focusing on its classical version, I will try to provide an accessible introduction to this topic, with a possible outlook on quantum integrability as well. Integrable features play a tremendous role in various fields of research, and we will touch upon this when I briefly cover recent results in my own research revolving around integrability in a string theory context.
