Overview

Air pollution can be considered as a modern day curse and raises a series of concerns for public health. It can lead to acute respiratory diseases, heart diseases and even poor lung development in children. Led by the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE) here at Surrey, this Citizen Science Workshop is aimed to increase the engagement of local communities around air quality. The impact of citizen science workshops can be huge and can lead to policy change, behaviour change, further collaborations and establishment of a strong citizen science community.

This workshop will educate and empower participants to understand the air quality in places that matter to them. The results of this research will shed light on the reality of air pollution at the local level and will be used to raise public awareness.
