I wanted to learn more about telecommunications and find solutions to improve connectivity for people and businesses. Working towards a PhD allowed me to pursue this goal through research.

I ultimately chose the University of Surrey due to its unique strengths and offerings that align seamlessly with the requirements of my research: specialised expertise, interdisciplinary environment, and PATS facilities make it the ideal institution.

I contacted several potential supervisors from various universities but was instantly seduced by the accessibility and generosity of spirit of staff from the School of Literature and Languages at the University of Surrey .

Studying abroad as an international student is highly rewarding. I would definitely recommend doing a PhD here to any international students considering their next step.

Teachers and doctoral students together have created a lively community that consistently inspires and promotes research in the field of the guitar around the globe.

I knew Surrey would be a good place to do a PhD as the Institute for Communication Systems is a world-leading research centre with an outstanding reputation.

Having an experienced supervisor in my research area has been invaluable to me throughout my PhD journey... their unwavering support and encouragement have significantly boosted my self-confidence, especially in times when I needed it the most.

I am currently in the process of collecting my current results to create an academic paper, and I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help of all my supervisors. I feel very supported by them.

One of my best moments so far was submitting my paper for review for the first time. Even though it was just the submission, it felt like a true academic milestone had been achieved.
