Life as a student is very different to working 9-5 and I’ve appreciated the challenge of this change so far. I’ve learned to prioritise a work-life balance and value my free time, and it’s allowed me to differentiate between mindsets and strengthen my wellbeing.

I’m delighted to have secured a role with Leonardo as a Graduate Project Manager. My placement experience was invaluable in my job search – particularly in preparing for interview and developing my CV and cover letter.

My placement gave me an insight into the police work conducted behind a crime or death. Analysing post-mortem samples and seeing the effects of certain drugs on people really fascinated me and gave me the opportunity to explore the toxicology world in depth.

A major highlight for me was getting to see my idea turn into a fully functional business with paying clients by the end of my placement year!

The academic staff are absolutely wonderful and one element about the course that really struck me was how genuinely passionate they were about their chosen specialism.

I enjoy the wide variety of modules offered and how you can tailor the course to your interests. All the lecturers are really responsive and are happy to meet with you to discuss anything about the course.

The Business Management degree at the University of Surrey has allowed me to explore different avenues of business and even tailor the experience to meet my interests.
