I fell in love with Surrey’s campus from images online, but nothing compares to seeing it first-hand. The moment I set foot here, felt the atmosphere and met some of my course mates, I knew I had made the right decision.

My main achievement on placement was being offered a three-month extension, which led to a permanent position.

By the end of my placement, I had implemented a variety of complex features in a large software product that’s used by businesses all over the world, which felt like a huge achievement.

The past four years have been the turning point in my life, and I would not have it any other way.

The best aspect of my course has been the chance to work on numerous hands-on projects. These projects have been very pertinent to real world challenges – for example a group project I’ve worked on involved designing and manufacturing a robotic hand for a child.

The Professional Training placement at Surrey was a major factor in deciding to come here. The University provides so much support in finding a placement, which in the long term is incredibly beneficial for finding a job.
