I’m currently studying for a masters, learning about the sustainable development of the food system, investigating important world challenges like food insecurity.

I was part of the Surrey/ICE Scholarship scheme. This meant that at the time of joining Mott MacDonald as a graduate civil engineer, I’d already had 16 months of experience there. Without that scheme and the links Surrey has with industry, I don’t think I’d be sitting in this job today!

Surrey promoted Abbott to me when I was looking for a Professional Training placement. I’m now working there, so it’s given me a great opportunity for my graduate career and beyond!

Surrey helped my career by having the Professional Training placement experience on my CV. It was such a game-changer in interviews. Other candidates would reference university projects or modules, while I’d use real-world examples working on real projects. My placement helped me get ahead of the competition.

The modules themselves were so interesting with a unique range of texts, which I may never have discovered on my own".

Surrey was the only university I could see myself at. I nearly didn't apply, but after visiting the campus I was sure that I wanted to study at Surrey.
