"The MBA at the University of Surrey was an easy option for me. I met some of the excellent professors at the university when visiting on a tour and it showed me how approachable they were; something I didn’t experience when visiting other universities, some of which were also significantly more expensive. The University of Surrey also hosts the Center of Digital Economy (CoDE), providing valuable insights into the digital economy as well as first hand accounts into the future of digital platforms.

The Surrey MBA has been great at linking modules together, as is expected in the real world. The inter-linking of modules meant concepts that have been learnt must be applied constantly, even if they are far-fetched. This creates a mind frame of looking at businesses as a living organism, constantly using analytical tools and examining the external environment for changes, and then formulating plans to change. I shall use these same tools every quarter to ensure I am aware of changing trends, so my business can prepare for such changes.

The emphasis placed on the need for innovative company culture has been a real eye opener. When looking at some start-up companies I have previously worked for, what seemed a sure win did not win, with hindsight, the company culture meant they were doomed to fail. By understanding how to influence company culture positively allows progress, as well as sustainability through the triple bottom line framework; something I feel all companies should be adhering to. To be able to successfully implement a positive culture meant improvement of my soft skills as well as my leadership style, something that has significantly improved during my time at Surrey."
