"Studying at the University enabled me to improve myself at a personal, academic and professional level."

Course

Marketing Management MSc

Entry year

2018

“Taking part in this particular course was a completely different experience for me. Working with a team of like-minded people with common objectives was one of the most important elements that I particularly enjoyed throughout the MSc Marketing Management course.

Cooperating with students from different educational and cultural backgrounds enabled me to combine different skills and ideas in an atmosphere where creativity and a respect for difference of ideas thrived. What’s more is I particularly enjoyed our effective communication and collaboration with the professors, it enhanced my motivation to focus even further. I also really enjoyed the different topics covered in the course and I highly appreciate the useful skills and knowledge I obtained.

"In terms of resources and facilities, the University provides these in high quantity and quality, an important element needed in order to create a good balance between studying and socialising."

Most of my lectures were hosted at Surrey Business School and the MS Building, which includes modern and well-maintained technological equipment, white boards, microphones and spacious rooms.

Life at Surrey exceeded my expectations. Most of my free time was spent by the lake located at the centre of campus, where my friends and I were often able to organise BBQs or other activities on sunny days. Surrey Sports Park is also only a 20 minute walk, providing me with the option of going to the gym during the weekends or between my breaks. Of course, Guildford town centre is also nearby, where you can find numerous high street shops, restaurants and pubs.

Living and studying at Surrey also gave me reason to visit London regularly, as well as organise short trips to the south of England. There are many amazing places to visit nearby, all accessible by train or bus.

Studying at the University enabled me to improve myself at a personal, academic and professional level. My decision to study a masters degree abroad made me believe more in my abilities and allowed me to become more responsible for my decisions. With regards to my employment and academic skills, through numerous lectures, conferences and seminars hosted at the University, I feel particularly satisfied that my CV has evolved in a way that will enable me to stay competitive in the employment market after graduation.

The Employability and Careers Centre at the University really supported me when searching for a placement, and it certainly made a difference to my performance. Today, having completed the taught part of my course, I am pleased to have been offered a position at the University for my six-month placement, providing me with the opportunity to enhance my academic skills even further and gain vital work experience.”
