Cyber security outreach for older adults
Start date
31 August 2021End date
18 March 2022Overview
The project aims to raise awareness of cyber security issues amongst older adults in the local community, using novel materials and methods of co-design. This extends the remit of current outreach activities by the University of Surrey’s Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education. The centre is recognised by the National Cyber Security Centre for our excellence in cyber security education. It will do this by co-creating a set of new teaching and learning materials on password creation and management, with stakeholder partners and older people themselves. These materials will involve, facilitator slides, handouts, videos and a self-contained interactive website for practicing passwords.
Stakeholders include Age UK, Age UK Surrey, Surrey Coalition for Disabled People, Action for Elders, Action for Carers Surrey, Sight for Surrey.
The project is funded by the National Cyber Security Centre.
