Joint Sensing and Communication for B5G Wireless NetworksFuture 6G wireless systems are expected to support diverse applications, such as autonomous driving, intelligent medical, extended reality and Wi-Fi sensing, which require high-data-rate communications and high-resolution sensing. Furthermore, with the broad deployment of massive MIMO and Millimeter wave technologies, future communication signals tend to have high resolution in both the time and angular domains, making it possible to perform high-resolution sensing using communication signals. Under this background, integrated sensing and communication, in which the sensing and communication operations are jointly designed via the shared use of a single hardware platform and a joint signal processing framework, has emerged as a critical technology towards the following generation of wireless standards. To achieve the above complex and diversified requirements, academics and industrialists in the wireless community have turned their attention to placing Joint Sensing and Communication.
