Anaerobic Digestion Process Modelling, Optimisation, and Control Using Artificial IntelligenceThe project, "Anaerobic Digestion Process Modelling, Optimisation, and Control Using Artificial Intelligence," is a project funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) with a primary objective of leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and optimisation techniques to enhance anaerobic digestion (AD) processes. Focused on supporting the UK's net-zero emissions target, the project seeks to develop a comprehensive framework for optimising AD operations. Researchers will explore the impact of various waste feedstocks on AD performance, utilising sensors and digital twins of digesters to create AI-driven solutions for real-time control. Additionally, the project includes a sustainability assessment component, evaluating the environmental impact of AD in the UK. Ultimately, this research aims to contribute significantly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy production, and fostering sustainable waste management practices through cutting-edge AI technology.
