About
Biography
I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ljubljana with a degree in veterinary medicine. I completed two clinical internships in equine clinics, the first at my alma mater in Ljubljana, and the second at the University of Liège. During my second internship, I also obtained a Master of Specialization degree in Specialized Veterinary Medicine.
After returning to Slovenia, I pursued doctoral studies and obtained a PhD in veterinary sciences at the equine clinic of the Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana. My research focused on investigating the immune response of the airways in asthmatic horses and the effect of treatment with adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells.
Upon completing my PhD, I moved to the United Kingdom, where I worked as a programme manager for BSc (Hons) Veterinary Physiotherapy at Plumpton College before joining the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey.
