My research project
Immuno-oncology of breast cancerWe are digging into the immunological microenvironment of BC, focusing on the triple negative subtype, being the most aggressive subtype, yet; lacking effective targeted therapy. Tumour Infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) have already proven prognostic significance in TNBC. We are studying this further in new different cohorts; assessing associations between TILs scores and survival analyses.
Through exploiting publicly available transcriptomics datasets, we aim to explore and discover new immune check points, which should be of promising prognostic and therapeutic significance. Supported by strong bioinformatic analysis, this project intends to unravel multi-layered ‘omic maps of breast tissues (healthy and cancerous).
I believe that Immuno-oncology has the key to decipher breast cancer and the hope to conquer it!
