Biography
I graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Biochemistry, following which I was a post doctoral research scientist at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. I then decided to change careers and trained as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in London, becoming a member of the ICAEW in 2001. I worked for a number of years at the National Audit Office in London, auditing the financial statements of a range of central government departments and organisations, including H M Treasury, the Bank of England and the National Savings Bank.
Since 2004, I have worked within the education and training sector, being employed as an author for BPP Learning Media as well as an accounting teacher for two further education colleges, and a marker for professional accountancy exams. I have been teaching in higher education since September 2022. In my spare time, I enjoy time with my family and our four rescue chickens.
