Biography
I graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Biochemistry, following which I was a post doctoral research scientist at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. I then decided to change careers and trained as a Chartered Accountant in London, becoming a member of the ICAEW in 2001. I worked for a number of years at the National Audit Office in London, auditing the financial statements of a range of central government departments and organisations, including H M Treasury, the Bank of England and National Savings.
Since 2004, I have worked within the education and training sector, being employed as an author for BPP Learning Media as well as an accounting teacher for two further education colleges. In tandem with this, I continue to work on a freelance basis for BPP University and the ACCA and ICAEW.
In my spare time, I enjoy time with my family and our three rescue chickens.
