My research project
The Role and Agency of Knowledge Transfer Offices within University Entrepreneurial EcosystemsAs the funding environment for universities has changed over the last few years making it more challenging for them to sustain themselves, the role of innovation in universities is becoming increasingly important. A Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) is a dedicated unit within a university system that allows for specialisation in providing support services, especially in the management of intellectual property and business development.
My research focuses on understanding the role of KTOs in the complex entrepreneurial university ecosystems and how effective they are in achieving their strategic outcomes.
This is particularly relevant as academic and industry have developed a high state of interdependence in the area of innovation, as they both recognise the benefits that they each bring to the collaborative efforts.
