About

Biography

I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and a qualified Cognitive Behavioural therapist. My work is informed by person-centred, existential, cognitive and postmodern ideas. My interest in psychotherapy emerged from my experiences as an international humanitarian worker in Africa and my training for a Masters in Social Work. The latter included extensive individual and group work experience in a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre. I then spent seven years working in an NHS clinical and counselling psychology unit providing both short and long term psychotherapy and two years establishing and leading an outreach service for entrenched rough sleepers. I have taught individual and group counselling and psychotherapy to students studying from foundation to Doctoral level.

Research interests

I am interested in the philosophy of psychotherapy, relational and experiential approaches to psychotherapy and the similarities and tensions between different therapeutic models.
