Chris Akerman

Biography

After graduating from Birmingham University with a degree in Chemical Engineering I joined KPMG in London in one of their audit departments specialising in the Oil Industry. Following qualification as a Chartered Accountant I joined BP in their head office in London. During my 13 years at BP I had many different accounting and finance roles based in the UK, Belgium and Australia.

I joined the University of Surrey in 2009 as a teaching fellow in accounting and have taught various accounting modules at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am currently the module leader for our postgraduate module which covers the principles of accounting.

While here at Surrey I have completed my post graduate teaching qualification.
