Dr Calum Eoin Jones
About
Biography
I completed my Masters in Physics with Astronomy here at the University of Surrey, before moving on to complete a PhD in Nuclear Physics at the University of Brighton. After a Postdoctoral position at GSI in Darmstadt, Germany, I'm back at Surrey to continue my nuclear physics research.
My qualifications
ResearchResearch interests
My particular area of research interest is in very short nuclear lifetimes, in the nano- and pico-second range, and the techniques used to measure and study them. At Surrey I work on the FATIMA array, an array of 36 LaBr3 detectors with fantastic timing properties to study short-lived nuclear states.
